Back in 1969, founder Tim Miyasaka and a team of experienced berry growers had an idea for a new kind of berry farm. They would sow the fertile fields of coastal California and apply their collective berry growing knowledge to create the world's premiere berries. They would form lasting relationships and deliver only the most attentive customer service. And thus was born the Well-Pict brand.

The seedling company had a humble beginning. Well-Pict opened its agricultural doors with just 150 acres of land. It shipped just 500,000 flats of strawberries in that first season. Not many by today’s standards. But their dedication and persistence paid off. It wasn't long before distributors noticed the uncommon quality of Well-Pict products and the extra care that went into packing the berries. And soon, the orders began to multiply.

In the years since, Well-Pict has established itself as a major grower in the produce industry and as a preferred name in the berry business. We now market a full line of premium-quality berries across the U.S. and around the world. Yet, despite the company’s phenomenal growth, we still adhere to the same basic principles of quality and service that we embraced when we first began, back in 1969.

We’ve also developed new fungicides and trained our growers how to properly use them. Meanwhile, we've fostered the development of plants that are much more disease-resistant. And we’ve adopted the use of friendly predator insects as a vital part of our effort to eliminate destructive pests.

We're committed to delivering only premium quality berries. So every phase of our production and distribution process is closely monitored. Our highly trained field staff carefully supervises the picking process. And they conduct routine checks to ensure the quality of each berry harvest. When the berries arrive at the cooler packed, they are immediately chilled to remove damaging field heat. Once cooled, the berries are ready for shipment.
