New year, new opportunities
It’s a brand-new year and that means plenty of new opportunities to sell Well•Pict Berries to your customers. While berries are traditionally known as a summer luxury, our California-based company has enlisted the help of several independent Florida growers to ensure Well•Pict can ship our premium, proprietary berries year-round. Utilizing a bi-coastal supply and filling in the winter supply gap for retailers ensures you can make money from Well•Pict product more months out of the year, while your customers get the same premium product we ship out at the height of our summer season, without compromising value or quality. Sometimes consumers need a little a push to remember that berries are around in winter, and able to be incorporated to many winter meals, regardless of meal time, cuisine, or occasion. Most of the time, keeping our berries up front and at eye level is enough incentive to get customers to buy them. They’re superior size, shape, color, and shine attracts new buyers, and our premium flavor makes return purchasers out of anyone whose tried Well•Pict before.
Because our product is so versatile, finding ways to market our berries in winter months is just as easy as promoting them during peak season. There are plenty of winter holidays and events retailers can take advantage of while staging our berries with cross-merchandising opportunities. They include:
New Years’ Resolutions
Many individuals spend January and February on various diet plans, hoping to get healthy for the new year. Our berries are a healthy option for most all diets, whether eaten alone or paired in salads, smoothies, or other recipes. Staging recipe ingredients near your strawberry display, or placing Whole 30, Keto, Paleo, Weight Watchers, and other diet-specific symbols throughout your produce department reminds people that berries (and other fruits and veggies) are an important part of their “New Year/New You” goals.
Football Season
Berries can be the centerpiece or supplementary punch to many great party recipes, including our fresh Strawberry Salsa, or altering our Chicken Burger recipe to make sliders. Cross-promote recipe ingredients and promiently list the URL to our website recipe tab (wellpict.com/recipe) on a chalkboard or display that features football-related drawings to get customers to connect the dots: Strawberries and football parties are a winning combination. Hip, Hip, Hooray!
Customers shop for Well•Pict for family meals, party appetizers, romantic dinners, and more.
Valentine’s Day
Whether you want to print out instructions for your customers to learn how to make a strawberry bouquet, or display our berries next to other food items with a similar reputation for being romantic (champagne, chocolate, wine, etc), Valentine’s Day and berries go hand in hand. Just like a couple in love.
Easy Mid-Week Meals
After the holidays, school is back in session and employees are still coming home from work when it’s dark out. Suggesting easy-to-make, little-time-to-prep berry-centric meals for your customers is a great way to increase not only berry sales, but sales of additional food items as well. Some of our favorite recipes for busy parents are this healthy breakfast Overnight Chia Pudding and these crockpot BBQ Pulled Pork Tacos.
These are just some suggestions for merchandising in winter. Because berries can go with every meal time from breakfast through dessert, in nearly every type of food from salads and sauces to entrees and sweets, in every cuisine from American to Venezuelan, there truly is an unlimited amount of cross-merchandising and cross-marketing potential.
