Around the world with Well•Pict
Get outta here, shortbread. See ya, sugar cookies. This year, we’re shaking things up. When considering holiday desserts that will wow friends and family, why not close your eyes, spin the globe, and see where your index finger lands?
When considering international dessert recipes, berries are a great star ingredient. From the simple (fresas con crema) to the slightly more complicated (tanghulu), these treats highlight strawberries and raspberries in a way that will surprise and delight your friends and family (and if they come from one of the featured countries—well, then they’ll feel right at home!).
We’ve put together a collection of international recipes for you (including Well•Pict Berries’s own Strawberry Lime Sufganiyot), but it can be lots of fun to hunt around cyberspace for berry recipes from cuisines you already enjoy. If this will be your first sojourn into international waters, try something fairly easy that utilizes ingredients you have on hand. As you gain confidence, you can strike out for more difficult terrain that includes spices, flavorings, and other ingredients that are new to your kitchen!
Bon appétit, and we hope you have a happy holiday season filled with a culinary adventure.
