Keeping up with the crops: October update for Well•Pict Berries
We caught up with Well•Pict Berries Director of Marketing Jim Grabowski for a quick update on our fall and winter berries. Here’s what we found out…
Our Watsonville fields are in full production, but have begun the slow-down process that will continue through the beginning of November. Around that same time, our Oxnard location will be producing the winter Well•Pict Berries. The Oxnard fields are expected to be in full production through the end of November. The network of great growers we work with is able to fill any gaps in production; this ensures a full 12-month berry crop rotation. “The berries are good fruit, a great size, and a great flavor. We are expecting a flawless transition and looking forward to always providing extraordinary berry flavor that represents Well•Pict’s True Berry Taste™,” Jim states.
As always, thank you to Jim for the helpful update. Looks like it’s going to take a lot more than cold weather to keep delicious Well•Pict Berries strawberries out of your shoppers’ carts (and bellies)! Make sure you have plenty of Well•Pict 100% recyclable clamshell packages in stock and ready to go. Your customers may not have expected to have strawberries on their holiday table, but what a sweet surprise it will be to see them displayed in your store alongside the oranges and pomegranates!
