Oh-so-delicious, Oh-so-organic
Well•Pict Berries has been a leader in sustainability and environmental awareness long before it was the hip thing to do. In their commitment to, investment in, and research on leaving the planet a better place than they found it, the Well•Pict team has been able to hit the ground running in their development of superior, “Flavor First” organic strawberries.
In order to protect the quality and veracity of their organic offerings, Well•Pict partners with independent growers who meet USDA Organic certification standards. These growers are committed to the use of naturally enriched soils that do not contain any synthetic materials—including fertilizers and pesticides. The use of drip irrigation systems, “bug vacs” (yup, they suck the bugs right off the crops), and the introduction of “good bugs” into the fields all ensure that Well•Pict’s sweet, succulent proprietary berries and the blossoms that bear them are fully protected from unwanted pests and grown in a wholly environmentally responsible manner.
Organic strawberries currently make up 10% of Well•Pict’s volume, but that number is expected to grow in the coming years. Plans to expand organic offerings is just one small aspect of Well•Pict’s commitment to sustainability. Well•Pict’s signature clamshell packaging is 100% recyclable and made from 70% recycled drinking bottles. A full half of their manufacturing processes are powered by the ultimate natural resource: the sun.
If you haven’t tried Well•Pict’s organic strawberries, be sure to pick up a clamshell next time you’re in the produce section—you’ll get the same premium True Berry Taste™ the company is known for while giving the planet a little boost as well.
