Show Them You Care
And by “them” we mean, of course, your Well•Pict Berries! All Well•Pict products are meticulously coddled from blossom to berry, so it’s only right that their care and storage should reflect this luxurious upbringing. Think it’s just a matter of taking them out of the grocery bag and chucking them in the fridge until it’s snack time? Think again. With just a bit of extra time and care, you can ensure your berries taste better and last longer.
1) Ask yourself: Will these be eaten in the next few days?
For berries that will be eaten soon, either put them in the fridge in their original 100% recyclable clamshell package or a different storage container with a dry paper towel lining the bottom.
For berries that might hang out for a while, here are our storage secrets:
- After rinsing, gently blot the berries dry and slice the cap off at the top.
- Place the capped berries cut-side down on a cookie sheet lined with waxed paper, and place uncovered in the freezer for a minimum of six hours.
- Transfer your frozen berries to a freezer bag or freeze-proof container.
Frozen berries can be stored this way for several months!
Ready to eat them fresh out of the package? (We wouldn’t be able to wait, either!) Simply wash your berries under a gentle spray of cool water (leave the caps attached). If they’ve been in the fridge, let them come to room temperature before serving.
